On November 16, 2023, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy) organized a press conference to introduce and provide official information about the National E-commerce Week and Online Friday 2023 program to government agencies, organizations, businesses, and consumers, as well as media outlets nationwide.
The Online Friday program is the largest national e-commerce event of the year, organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in collaboration with government agencies, the People's Committees of provinces/cities, Cong Thuong newspaper, and supporting units. It is not only a significant online shopping event but also an opportunity for businesses to promote their brands and achieve effective sales, demonstrating innovation and active participation in the development of the e-commerce industry.

Ms. Le Hoang Oanh, Director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy, shared the scale and importance of the Online Friday program during the press conference. She emphasized that this is one of the prominent activities of the National E-commerce Development Program for the 2021-2025 period, approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 645/QD-TTg, aiming to meet the increasing demand for online shopping and enhance brand promotion for businesses.
To ensure the success of the program, the leadership of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy proposed close cooperation between the organizing committee and businesses, providing information and creating favorable conditions for efficient implementation. Additionally, businesses in the e-commerce sector are encouraged to leverage existing advantages and propose promotional programs, discounts to attract customers during the year-end season.
In the coming time, the program promises to continue providing practical support for businesses and focus on building trust from consumers. Genuine promotional programs and serious collaboration from major brands, businesses, and large e-commerce platforms will be encouraged to create a positive and transparent e-commerce environment.
At the press conference, the Ministry of Industry and Trade officially announced the schedule for the National E-commerce Week and Online Friday 2023. The week-long event will take place from November 27, 2023, to December 3, 2023, nationwide. The 60-hour Online Friday event will commence from midnight on Friday, December 1, 2023, until noon on December 3, 2023, on TikTok, with the support of major partners such as TikTok Shop, Shopee, Lazada, Tiki, VNPAY, ZaloPay, Viettel Post, VnPost, ACCESSTRADE Vietnam, and many others.
